Connect Polar

Polar is a billing provider for coupons, alongside Stripe and Paddle. Each product has one billing connection. Connecting Polar replaces any previous coupon provider on that listing. Dealpuffin never asks for a write token, and Polar is not a way to sign in.

Coupons

  1. In Polar, open your organization Settings, then organization access tokens.
  2. Create a token named Dealpuffin with discounts:read.
  3. Copy the token. It starts with polar_oat_.

Open the product from Submit a product, choose Polar, and paste the token in Coupons. Dealpuffin checks that the token can read discounts, encrypts it, and runs the first import. You only see a hint of the key after that.

Only discounts that include a checkout code are imported. Percentage and fixed discounts map into Dealpuffin, including once, repeating, and forever durations.

Optional Polar product UUIDs live on that connection. A discount limited to those ids can be published only when the ids overlap.

What is stored

The plaintext token is not stored. A connection keeps an encrypted ciphertext, a nonce, a short hint, and the last sync time. Sync does not publish coupons. See Sync and publish.
