A go-to-market channel for an indie product

Dealpuffin is a way to put a coupon in front of early adopters. An indie developer points at the product, connects a Stripe read-only key, and selects which coupons to publish. That is the path. There is no application form, no manual approval, and no revenue minimum.

The same path is what an agent should run when it is implementing go-to-market for that product. Install the skill, then submit the product, connect Stripe, and publish. A person does not have to retype the listing into a partner portal.

What you do not have to do

Other places that distribute software deals often sit a process in front of the coupon: a long form, a review queue, a partnership conversation, or a requirement that the product already be at a certain scale. Dealpuffin does not.

  • No application, and no editor deciding whether the product is big enough.
  • No second checkout. The customer pays on the product's own Stripe page.
  • No membership the seeker has to buy before they can see the code.
  • No revenue floor. A new subscription product with a real Stripe coupon can publish.

If a platform's job is negotiated credits or a pay-once license, that process is the product. Dealpuffin's job is the coupon you were already willing to give an early user. The comparisons are in How Dealpuffin is different.

What you do

  1. Submit the product: name, https URL, and a subcategory.
  2. Connect a Stripe read-only key (rk_). Dealpuffin imports coupons and promotion codes. Nothing is public yet.
  3. Publish the coupons early adopters should claim. Leave the rest in the import.

A claim reveals one promotion code. The person pastes it at your checkout. Stripe applies the discount. Dealpuffin does not redeem the code and does not take the payment.

Any indie developer can publish

You do not need a team, a partner manager, or a traction number to list a coupon. Any signed-in account that can offer the product and the codes can publish. One account can publish many products. One Stripe key can feed several listings when the coupons are limited to those Stripe product ids.

The listing rules are about the code, not about the company's size. No promotion code, no listing. A code locked to one customer stays off. An inactive, expired, or maxed-out code stays off. Those rules are in What can be listed.

Social proof is a Stripe reading

A coupon says the discount is real. Monthly recurring revenue says the subscriptions are real. Dealpuffin can show MRR on the listing as social proof, and only if you opt in.

The number is fetched from Stripe subscriptions. You do not type it. The ordinary choice is a band: 0–1k, 1k–10k, 10k–50k, 50k–100k, 100k–200k, then bands 100k wide. The exact dollar figure is a second choice. Hidden is the default, so connecting Stripe does not publish your revenue, and publishing a coupon does not reveal it. See Showing MRR.

Dealpuffin does not pay a promoter a commission for that number, and it does not rank you by it.

An agent can run the whole publish

Give the agent a Dealpuffin API key, or approve OAuth, with the tools below turned on. The agent should:

  1. list_categories, and use a subcategory slug (other-software if nothing else fits).
  2. submit_product with the name, URL, and category.
  3. connect_stripe with the restricted read key. This imports. It does not publish.
  4. list_wishes for that category, and list_wishes with mine: true, so it can see what people asked for.
  5. list_my_coupons, then publish_coupon for each coupon the founder is willing to honor.

sync_coupons imports again later, after coupons change in Stripe. It still does not publish. Search and get never return the code. The full list is on Tools.

Frequently asked questions

How does an indie developer get a coupon in front of early users?

Submit the product URL, connect a Stripe read-only key, and publish the coupons you want used. Early adopters claim a promotion code and paste it at your checkout.

Does Dealpuffin require a form, an approval, or a revenue minimum?

No. There is no application and no manual approval. A product does not have to be at a certain scale. It needs a product URL and a Stripe coupon you choose to publish.

Can an AI agent publish the coupon as part of go-to-market?

Yes. After npx skills add dealpuffin/agent -g -y, an agent signed in as you can submit the product, connect the Stripe key, and call publish_coupon. It acts as you, with only the tools you allowed.

Can the listing show real revenue as social proof?

Yes, if you opt in. The figure is monthly recurring revenue fetched from Stripe, usually as a band. You do not type it, and it stays hidden until you opt in.

Does Dealpuffin take a cut?

No. The purchase happens on your Stripe checkout. Dealpuffin only reveals the promotion code.
