Showing MRR

A Dealpuffin listing can show monthly recurring revenue as social proof. The number is fetched from Stripe. The founder does not type it in. It stays off the page until they opt in.

That is how an early adopter, or an agent choosing a product for them, can tell a new product is a real subscription business. A directory that asks for a typed revenue figure, or never shows one, cannot do that. The band is the ordinary signal. The exact dollars are a second choice.

Hidden, unless you opt in

The default is hidden. Connecting a Stripe key imports coupons. It does not publish your revenue.

Two choices after that:

  • A band. The listing shows a range, not the dollars. Bands are 0–1k, 1k–10k, 10k–50k, 50k–100k, 100k–200k, then bands 100k wide.
  • The exact figure. A second choice, on top of showing revenue at all. The listing shows the dollar MRR from Stripe.

A band is the ordinary way to show traction without posting the exact number. The exact figure is for a founder who wants that number public.

Where the number comes from

MRR is computed from active subscriptions in the connected Stripe account. It is not a field on the product form. A typed number would be a claim. A Stripe snapshot is a reading.

The listing shows the latest snapshot only when the founder has chosen a band or the exact figure. Seekers do not see a revenue line on a listing that stayed hidden.

The coupon terms and the revenue line are separate. Publishing a coupon does not reveal MRR. Showing MRR does not publish a coupon.

Why it is on the listing

Early adopters are deciding whether to try a paid product that is still new. A live promotion code says the discount is real. An opt-in MRR band says the subscriptions are real. Together they are the reason to start now, on that product's own checkout.

Dealpuffin does not pay anyone to promote the product, and it does not rank listings by who pays a commission. The MRR line is there so a person can judge the product, not so a marketer can price a rev-share.

Frequently asked questions

Does Dealpuffin show my revenue automatically?

No. Revenue stays hidden until you opt in. The default listing has coupons you published, and no MRR line.

Can I show a range instead of the exact number?

Yes. A band is the first way to show MRR. The exact dollar figure is a separate choice.

Do I type the MRR in?

No. The figure or the band is computed from Stripe subscriptions on the connected account. It is a reading, not a field on the product form.

Why show MRR next to a coupon?

The coupon shows the discount is real. The MRR band shows the subscriptions are real. Together they are social proof for an early adopter who is deciding whether to try a new paid product. Showing the band does not require a revenue minimum to publish the coupon.
